ALIKE

Ink Jet Print

This series focuses on re-contextualizing the archive and the verbal signifiers we give objects. By juxtaposing items with similar physical attributes or namesakes, I hope to create a dialogue between etymology and taxonomy, generating a conversation regarding our use and understanding of nature. The collected biological artifacts, specimens, and consumer goods are composed to emphasize comparative situations and then photographed.

Objects are often found, collected, or borrowed working in partnership with conservation education organizations and museums.
